8 Easy Tips To Help You Learn To Play The Guitar

You know this already but, making that first step is always the hardest step, and more than often we need a little help. To learn the guitar online is no different. You can see it this way, you have jumped into a train on your way to a job appointment, not just any job, the job that you want. You know you can do it, but after you get it, you don´t want to loose this opportunity, so you do your research with the people that has worked in this position in the past for advice on how to do it.

Now that you have decided to learn guitar, it is time to see what the best way to go is, and what the best guitar courses online to follow are in your journey of becoming a great guitarist.

Tip number one: make sure you have enough time to play guitar. This is very important, it is the key to becoming good with musician. Just like learning how to drive, having time to practice guitar during the day is important when you are starting.

Tip number two: listen to music. Difficult, isn’t it? To be more specific, to the songs you want to learn how to play. When the moment comes for you to learn these songs, you will know by ear when you make a mistake, besides, having the motivation of learning a song that you actually enjoy playing will make it better.

Tip number three: exercise your fingers. An example of a great exercise is after you have learned the chords, play them in order: C – D – E – F – G – A – B. Do this a couple of times to get used to the changes.
Tip number four: practice in your head. This sounds kinda weird doesn´t it? But in fact this workds. When you imagine something in your head, your brain works as if you were actually doing it. So, when you imagine yourself practicing the chords on your guitar, you are in reality practicing almost as much as if you had the guitar in your hands.

Advice number five: have your guitar clean. Ok, this is not exactly a tip that will make you a better guitar player, but is more like common sense. A clean guitar is a happy guitar, and a happy guitar will keep you happy too.

Tip number six: build fingers strength. Don’t worry; you don’t have to get into a gym to make this happen. You can work on this by playing scales on your guitar or just by doing the chords correctly and holding your fingers still for a few seconds will do. You will feel the difference in a couple of days.

Advice number seven: practice with your eyes closed. This is great, as it can be tricky. Try doing changes from chord to chord first, then you can move to another exercise that you know. Your fingers will know what to do and you will play a lot faster.

Tip number eight: Look at other people. Having a role model to follow is a good thing to do, as long as it is to get motivation and inspiration only.

Then don’t forget that the best way to learn guitar is to practice every day. I strongly recommend you to get a guitar course online, or if you are able to join a music academy, that’s a great idea too. The important thing is to put dedication into it.

Video Guitar Courses – What To Expect From Them

There are normally 2 methods to learn the guitar, Online and Offline. Yes, 10 or 15 years ago this was not the case. Back then it was necessary to find a tutor willing to teach guitar or, we could have joined a music school, which is still a great idea to learn the guitar if time and money are not an obstacle.

Now, if you decide to learn guitar with guitar video lessons, it is very likely that you will wonder what to expect from these lessons. Actually, in my opinion, this methods are very good, of course, there is a variety of methods out there, and more than often there is not just one top program, but there are quite a few that can actually teach you to play guitar.

You can expect, from these video methods, very specific and very good explanations about the lesson that you are getting. For example, if you are watching a lesson about Tuning Up your guitar, the video will explain you very slowly how to do it, and it will repeat, within the video, how to do it. And here comes the beauty of it, let’s say that you do not want to watch the explanation again, you simply move ahead and your teacher won’t get upset.

Another great thing that guitar lessons online offer, is that you get better faster than if you join a music academy, because your improvement will not be based on the slowest person in the class. The downside of it is that by not having a personal tutor, you won’t be able to ask a question and get an answer immediately, never the less, most courses offer 24/7 support, to get a good answer from an expert.

When teaching yourself the guitar with video lessons you not only choose what videos to skip and what lessons to take over and over, depending on the results you see. Now, the idea of having a course is to stick to it, but since you have to be self motivated, you are able to decide what lessons to do, this way, you will not get frustrated. That being said, that is in fact a usual problem when starting to play guitar. Once or twice students try to move too quickly, that they get frustrated and quit.

Usually this kind of methods are divided in beginners, intermediate and advanced lessons; I do not know if all of them are like this, I have not bought them all, but, the ones I have had the opportunity to use are truly a great tool to learn how to play and to improve my techniques.

So, you get very good explanations, 24/7 support, you get to learn at your own pace, and probably the best part for a lot of people, you do not need to move from your home to get them. I never get tired of saying this, it is really important to practice every day, especially when you begin to learn. Good luck and have a nice day.

Pro And Cons To Start Playing Guitar

A good thing to do prior getting something is to ask people out there about it. To learn guitar is the same. It is important to search online to find reviews about guitar courses, just like you are doing right now.

The guitar courses online have a lot of great qualities that help the beginner guitarist to start from scratch, and we are going to analyze what the pro and cons are of getting online lessons. It is always a good idea to do a little research before making a decision, that way we get a better idea of what to expect.
Pros:

1. Money Saver. Guitar lessons online are a powerful money saver against hiring a personal tutor or joining a music academy to get classes. It is true, the teaching is face to face in a school or with a teacher, but the price is indeed a lot higher.

2. Saves a lot of time. When you have the guitar lessons at your disposition in desktop computer, it really saves a lot of time. For example, you do not need to sit around for the tutor to come to your home or if you are taking classes at a music institute, you don’t have to go anywhere.

3. You have the chance to learn at your own speed. If you choose to go to an academy of music to learn guitar, you will have classmates, and there is normally one or two persons that learn faster than others, it could happen that the teacher moves to the next chapter of the course when you haven’t mastered it yet. It’s a possibility.

4. You get to chose when and where you take your lessons. This is actually one of the most benefitial characteristics that online lessons have, you only need a pc and an internet connection and you are ready to start learning at the time of the day that is more convenient to you. You do not have to adjust to someone else’s schedule.

What are the cons?

1. You have to be self-motivated and serious. Since you will be the only responsible of your improvement, you need to have motivation to avoid being frustrated or bored, meaning that you will not have someone watching your progress. Now, this can happen even with a teacher, to lose discipline; because either way you need to make time to play guitar on your own.

2. Move to fast and get frustrated. It can be that you fell overconfident about your improvement and move to a more difficult lesson that will make you get stuck. Or it could be the other way around: move to slow and get bored. A private teacher knows when the right time to switch to a harder level is. To avoid this, try to master one lesson at a time.

To start playing guitar is a very smart choice, you do have to put effort on it, but it’s an effort that leaves you with satisfaction of doing something you really enjoy. Have a happy learning.

Learn The Guitar Online – 4 Beginners Tips

Learning guitar doesn’t have to be frustrating at all. In fact, to learn the guitar online can be very fun and exciting. I had my first guitar about 12 years ago. I had no idea on how to play the guitar, and of course twelve years ago Youtube was not there, in fact, I didn’t even had access to the web, I recall that I owned a computer with Windows 95 just to have fun with really old games, So, a cousin of mine showed me the basics chords.

Wait, why am I telling you this? Because now it is easier than ever learning to play the guitar; there literally are hundreds of online guitar lessons out there that can give you good tips and techniques. The problem you will face is that most videos are about two or three minutes, which means that it is not the best way to learn the guitar online.

If you are serious about learning to play the guitar, you could A, take lessons with a private tutor or you could B, go to a music academy. Sure, you can do either one of them, but option A can be very expensive. Usually a private teacher charges anywhere from $25 to $100 for a one hour class… you tell me.

Option B is usually not as expensive than the first option, but who has the time? For me, the good way to go is the third option: Online Guitar Lessons. The reason why I consider this is a great alternative is because they are less expensive, it is a onetime fee and you get to learn at your own pace.

Now, let me tell you some good advice that will help you once you start playing guitar:

1. Play every day. You should make time, at least one hour a day to practice. This alone could be the most important tip to consider. Practice, practice and then practice a little more.

2. Love your Guitar. Think of your Guitar as an extension of your body. Treat it right, keep it clean. Now, if you do not have a guitar yet, I normally recommend buying a used instrument, or if you consider in buying a new guitar, try buying something that is not too expensive. Then, you can get a better guitar.

3. Start with an acoustic guitar with nylon strings. Your fingers will appreciate you if you do this, because nylon strings are softer and your fingers need to get used to them. Later on, on your electric guitar you will feel the difference.

4. Find a guitar buddy. If you already have a friend that plays guitar, great!, you will have someone to talk about your improvement and tips. This is not crucial, but it can be helpful, also, once you know a song or two you can get together and play for a while.

5. Practice every day. I know I said this already, but it is true, this is the key to success, and not just for guitar playing, but in this case yes. Try to practice for an hour every day.

Try to learn new things. Once you have mastered a song, continue with another one and so on. You are going to have a lot of fun and people will want to hear you play. Good luck!

Easy Songs To Learn Guitar

What are some good songs to learn guitar? There are quite a few that I can point out. It appears very obvious that it is needed for you to start learning guitar with popular songs but sometimes we like a song so much that we need to learn to play it right away, it is not the common scenario, but it happens.

Also, if you are real about this, it is a good idea to get the guitar video lessons to improve your skills faster.

Well, the smart thing you can do is to begin with good songs, popular songs. If you think about it, a reason why those songs are popular most of the time is due to the fact they are simple. If you begin with easy songs, you will not feel frustrated and you will be more comfortable with your Guitar.

A song that I like very much and was one of the first songs I tried is KNOCKIN’ ON HEAVEN’S DOOR, by Bob Dylan. This song is very easy, you only need to know four chords: G, D, C and A minor or Am (most commonly known). What can be difficult here is to go from one chord to the next, meaning that at first, you will not be changing from G to D for example very fast, but with a little practice you will be playing this song very likely in less than seven days.

KNOCKIN’ ON HEAVEN’S DOOR is a great song to practice the rhythm, the movement of your right hand (if you’re not left handed of course).

Another song that is very easy to learn and fun to play is Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver, It actually plays the same chords than the first song we were talking about, it only changes one chord. Instead of Am you will need to play Em. The difficulty level is really the same; the one significant difference is that this song is a little bit faster than Bob Dylan’s song.

Also, if you are like me and like punk rock songs, The Ramones have a lot of songs that are pretty easy to play, like Blitzkrieg Bop, one of my favorites. The truth is for this kind of songs, you don’t even have to learn all the chords, you just have to learn the Power Chord.

What is the Power Chord? Well, it is a chord that you can play in every fret getting a different chord. For example, to get the G note, you place your index finger on the sixth string on the third fret, your ring finger on the fifth string on the fifth fret and your pinky finger in the fourth string on the fifth fret, below your ring finger.

Once you master the Power Chord, you can play a lot of punk rock songs from bands such as Green Day, The Ramones, Blink 182, The Offspring… You get the Idea.

To practice the Chords, Here is a good list of songs that you can play:

1. Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
2. Free Falling by Tom Petty
3. Yellow by Coldplay
4. Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson
5. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynard
6. Clocks by Coldplay
7. Teardrops On My Guitar by Taylor Swift
8. Lost by Coldplay.
9. Realize by Colbie Caillat
10. You’re Beautiful by James Blunt

Remember, the key to play guitar is patience, so practice, practice and then practice some more. Learn one song first, and then move on to the next one. My best wishes and I’ll see you on stage.

Start Playing The Guitar Online If You Are Over 40

Is it doable to learn the guitar online if I’m over 40? The answer is YES. Is it very difficult for me? Not necessarily. A lot of men have the wrong idea that to start playing guitar online you need to be a kid that has much time or some unemployed guy living out of some trust found or something like that.

Sure, if you have a lot of time available it is easier. But the reality is when you truly want something, you can get it, but of course, you already knew that.

As a matter of fact, I read on a book written by Napoleon Hill that the really productive years for men and women are between 40 and 60 years old.

Nowadays we can find the online guitar lessons that we need almost anywhere to start learning.

This is great news for everyone who wants to grab a guitar and start playing at the age of 40 or more. First thing you need to have is motivation. When you like what you do it usually comes alone. You do not need to put any extra effort, because you have a lot of fun, and starting to play guitar is very fun.

Now, you have probably seen that the older you get, the harder it becomes to learn something new; and that is actually a fact sometimes like deciding to learn a new language or to study a new career at the university. Learning to play an instrument it can be a little bit harder if you are 40 than if you are 15, of course, but that does not mean that it is impossible at all. The truth is that you will need to focus a little bit more than if you were a teenager.

This is when Guitar Lessons Online come in handy, you do not have to go from one place to another, and you don’t need to spend large amounts of money to a private tutor. All you need is an Internet Connection and about one hour a day to practice. The practice is very important; it is what makes the difference between those that only know how to play one song from the ones to write the songs.
My recommendation as someone who has been playing guitar for almost 13 years now is to take a guitar course, take the advice of the experts, and always have thirst for knowledge. A lot of people learn a song or two and stop learning, but let me tell you this, playing the guitar gives you a better perspective of music. Your senses are more educated to see and hear things that other people can’t.

So, if you believe that life turns into a routine after the age of forty, think again. It is the perfect time to start learning new things, meeting new people and more important than that, discover what you are capable of doing with a little bit of determination and a little bit of practice. If you do not have a guitar yet, what are you waiting for?
